Talk About Fish is about identification of common marine and freshwater fish species in the Southeast Asia, fishing weather in Malaysia, fishing tackle basics, game fish catches and fish buying guide.

The fish species in this website were mostly caught in Tanjung Leman which is situated facing the South China Sea in the southern state of Johor, Malaysia. Located in the Central Indo-Pacific basin, Malaysia represents one of the most spectacular and richest marine species habitats in the world. The region contains more than 75% of worldwide reef building coral species, approximately 75% of the worldwide mangrove species and over 45% of worldwide seagrass species that provide suitable habitats for various life forms. There are approximately 2250 different species of both marine and freshwater fish in Malaysia.

Fish images in this website are mostly fresh fish photographed while still in the sea or at the jetty. The listings are originally arranged based on the International Standard Statistical Classification of Aquatic Animals and Plants. Also included are common names in languages and dialects used in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Update will be done whenever new photograph is available and name of the species are identified.
